I bought these models with no intention of ever playing Warcry. I did so because I saw them and thought they were cool. I’ve not done that for a long time, and never with the intention of just selling them afterwards but I am so glad I did. The Corvus Cabal look so cool and are really fun to paint. Here they are:
I did something new with these miniatures and that was use Steggadon Scale Green through the airbrush in order to base coat them. I was unsure how well it would go through the airbrush as it’s not made for it, however with a bit of thinner, it worked out really well.
Next step was to block in the other base colours. Rakarth Flesh for the skin tone and Negro gold and Black Metal (Scale 75) for the metallics. I used Dryad bark for the browns. For the feathers, I used a mix of 50/50 Steggadon Scale Green and Fenrusian grey to drybrush them and then Fenrusian grey to highlight at the end. The flesh tones were either picked out with either Kislev flesh or Palid Wych Flesh to give a little variety.
Skulls were done with Ushabti bone, washed with a watered down Seraphim Sepia and then highlighted with Screaming skull. The hoods were highlighted in Incubi Darkness and then again with Kabalite green to give a subtle variety in the colours of the miniatures.
I am most pleased with how they have turned out, now just to find a new home for them! If you are interested, feel free to get in touch about them!
